TKIL Industries Associates With KIS Group To Drive CBG Production

TKIL Industries said that it will leverage KIS Group’s cutting-edge technology to drive innovation and maximise CBG production from the byproducts of sugar plant distilleries and other biomass

TKIL Industries (formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India), a player in industrial engineering and manufacturing, has entered into the Bio-chemicals sector as part of its strategic business diversification. As part of this initiative, the company has partnered with KIS Group, a sustainable biofuel technology company, for compressed biogas (CBG) technology to support the energy transition and decarbonisation goals of India and the world.

Through this association, TKIL Industries said that it will leverage KIS Group’s cutting-edge technology to drive innovation and maximise CBG production from the byproducts of sugar plants, distilleries and other biomass, laying the foundation for a broader bio-chemical business portfolio.

This collaboration aligns with India’s ambitious goal of reducing carbon emissions by 50 per cent and achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030, reinforcing TKIL Industries’ vision of building a better tomorrow, said the press release.

Talking about the association and entering the bio-chemicals sector, Vivek Bhatia, Managing Director and CEO of TKIL Industries, said, “As part of our strategic growth initiatives, we are entering the bio-chemicals sector to drive sustainable advancements. Our partnership with KIS Group represents a significant milestone in our commitment to a low-carbon future. By leveraging our joint capabilities, we aim to accelerate the development of CBG as part of our Bio-chemicals business portfolio, while also evaluating opportunities in other cleaner chemicals.”

While highlighting the technology expertise, Raghunath, Founder and CEO, KIS Group, stated, “We are excited to tie up with TKIL Industries to advance CBG as a scalable and sustainable solution for India and the world. By integrating our state-of-the-art technology with TKIL Industries’ expertise in manufacturing and industrial project execution, this association is poised to make a significant impact on India’s energy transition, driving innovation and sustainability in the sector.”

With the growing demand for renewable energy, the industry is shifting from traditional fossil fuel usage to a more sustainable model. Biogas production from press mud, spent wash, animal waste, Napier grass and other biomass, aligns with India’s renewable energy goals, offering both economic and environmental benefits. Recognising its potential, the government is actively supporting this transition through various policies and initiatives. For industries, adopting biogas is no longer optional—it is a strategic imperative to enhance competitiveness, minimize waste, and contribute to a greener future.
