TKIL Industries Joins Hands With KIS Group To Boost CBG Production

Strategic partnership marks TKIL’s foray into Bio-Chemicals, driving innovation and sustainability in India’s energy transition

TKIL Industries (formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India), a industrial engineering and manufacturing company, has officially entered the bio-chemicals sector through a strategic alliance with KIS Group, a global technology leader in sustainable biofuels. This partnership focuses on scaling Compressed Biogas (CBG) production from biomass and agro-industrial byproducts, furthering TKIL’s vision of contributing to a low-carbon economy.

As India accelerates its push toward clean energy and reduced carbon emissions, TKIL Industries’ move signals a pivotal expansion of its portfolio into green energy solutions. The collaboration with KIS Group will harness advanced technology to optimise CBG generation from feedstocks like press mud, spent wash, animal waste, and napier grass—transforming agricultural and industrial waste into a sustainable energy source.

“This partnership is a cornerstone of our strategy to create a robust Bio-Chemicals business that aligns with India’s climate goals,” said Mr. Vivek Bhatia, Managing Director and CEO, TKIL Industries. “With KIS Group’s proven technology and our execution capabilities, we aim to develop scalable CBG solutions while exploring opportunities in other clean chemical domains.”

KIS Group, renowned for its innovation in the biogas sector, brings to the table its proprietary technology that enhances efficiency, scalability, and environmental impact. “We are proud to collaborate with TKIL Industries to expand the role of CBG in India’s clean energy ecosystem,” said Raghunath, Founder and CEO of KIS Group. “Together, we’re creating solutions that are not only technologically superior but also economically and environmentally viable.”

Highlighting the broader industry implications, Anmol Mudholkar, Director – Sugar, Cogen and Bio-Chemicals at TKIL Industries, added, “This partnership paves the way for integrated and scalable biomass solutions. It supports sustainability across critical industrial sectors like sugar, distilleries, and chemicals, positioning us as a key player in India’s green industrial transition.”

The venture is well-timed, as the Indian government continues to strengthen policy frameworks and incentives for renewable energy adoption. CBG, in particular, is gaining momentum as a clean and commercially viable fuel for industrial and transportation sectors. TKIL’s move not only responds to this market opportunity but also reinforces the national agenda of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.

As the energy landscape evolves, TKIL Industries is positioning itself at the intersection of industrial innovation and environmental responsibility—building a greener future with every project.
