Vedanta Starts Vedas With Axa Climate To Enhance Sustainability & Upskill Workforce

The initiative aims to equip over 100,000 employees to support Vedanta’s net-zero and ESG goals
Vedanta Group has introduced Vedanta Academy for Sustainability (Vedas), a new program in partnership with Axa Climate, designed to upskill more than 100,000 employees and business partners. The initiative aims to integrate sustainability into the company’s operations, supporting its ambitious net-zero targets and broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
Vedas will offer a combination of e-learning modules, workshops, and leadership-led engagements focused on climate change mitigation, resource efficiency, community development, and ESG governance. The program aligns with Vedanta’s sustainability framework, which focuses on transforming communities, the planet, and the workplace.
The training modules are designed to help employees drive the company’s sustainability initiatives, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, advancing renewable energy adoption, and integrating climate risk management strategies. It will also focus on enhancing responsible resource management, supporting community development, and improving corporate governance practices.
This initiative is part of Vedanta’s broader sustainability roadmap, which includes goals such as becoming net water positive by 2030, expanding renewable energy capacity, and increasing leadership diversity, said the company. The company has also been recognized for its sustainability efforts, including ranking fourth among global metal and mining peers in the S and P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2024.
Through Vedas, Vedanta aims to equip its workforce with the necessary skills to contribute to the company’s long-term sustainability objectives, while fostering innovation and awareness across industries.
