Indian Journal of Democratic Governance’s latest issue explores critical themes on sustainability, innovation, empowerment, and governance for a Viksit Bharat
Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice President of India, has expressed his admiration for Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) for its innovative approach in promoting sustainability and good governance through research. The Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership (IIDL), established by RMP, continues to drive discussions on sustainable development with the Indian Journal of Democratic Governance (IJDG), a bi-annual research publication.
The latest edition of the journal released today, brings sustainability to the forefront with articles that explore India’s cultural, technological, and governance frameworks. One standout contribution is Chanpreet Kaur’s article, Effectiveness of Good Governance Policies on CSR Fund Utilization and Sustainable Development, which ties India’s spiritual heritage to modern sustainability practices. The article critically examines the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in India’s development and its potential to further sustainable practices within industries.
In another significant feature, Prakash Chand Kandpal’s article, Indian Cultural Tradition and Its Role in Environmental Governance, highlights India’s ancient texts and their emphasis on environmental stewardship—an invaluable source for modern environmental policies. Through these perspectives, the journal illustrates how India’s long-standing cultural and philosophical traditions can provide a roadmap for sustainable governance today.
The issue also includes discussions on innovative solutions, such as Mukul Priyadarshi’s exploration of societal progress through innovation, and Durga Prasad and Kalyan Prasad Sharma’s analysis of cloud technology’s role in fostering efficient, sustainable governance. Additionally, the journal features research on women entrepreneurs in rural Uttarakhand, underlining the significance of education and governance in empowering women for sustainable business growth.
