Waaree Energies Bags 300 MW Solar Module Supply Order From Sembcorp

Modules to be deployed across utility-scale solar projects in Rajasthan as developers back domestically manufactured technology

Indian solar module manufacturer Waaree Energies has secured a 300 megawatt (MW) module supply order from Sembcorp Green Infra , a renewable energy platform backed by Singapore-based Sembcorp Industries.

Under the agreement, Waaree will supply G12R TOPCon dual-glass bifacial solar modules for Sembcorp’s utility-scale solar projects in Rajasthan, according to a company statement issued on Wednesday. The modules will be deployed across multiple project sites in the state.

The G12R TOPCon bifacial modules are designed to deliver higher energy yield and improved performance under low-light and high-temperature conditions, making them suitable for large-scale solar installations. The dual-glass construction is intended to enhance durability over the project lifecycle.

Sunil Rathi, Executive Director, Waaree Energies, said the order reflects the company’s ability to supply high-efficiency solar technology at scale for utility-grade projects. He added that Waaree continues to focus on supporting India’s expanding renewable energy capacity through domestic manufacturing.

The order adds to Waaree’s growing portfolio of module supplies for large solar projects in India, at a time when developers are increasingly favouring domestically manufactured, high-efficiency modules.

India has set a target of achieving 500 gigawatt of non-fossil fuel power capacity, with solar expected to contribute a significant share. Industry participants have pointed to local manufacturing capacity as a key factor in meeting this goal while reducing import dependence.

Founded in 1990, Waaree Energies is headquartered in Mumbai and operates solar photovoltaic module manufacturing facilities with a combined capacity of around 22.3 gigawatt globally. The company also has a solar cell manufacturing capacity of up to 5.4 gigawatt and operates across more than 25 countries.
