WABAG Bags Rs 46.5 Cr RenewSys Order For Solar Cell Water Solutions
Order signals WABAG’s push into solar manufacturing sector with advanced UPW, ETP and ZLD solutions
VA Tech WABAG, the Chennai-headquartered water technology multinational, has secured an order worth Rs 46.50 crore from RenewSys India to deliver advanced water treatment systems for the latter’s upcoming 2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The project involves the design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of an Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) system, an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), and a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system. WABAG said the project will be executed within 11 months.
The order is strategically significant for WABAG as it expands the company’s footprint in the solar manufacturing sector. The company added that it expects the move to strengthen its positioning in high-growth areas such as solar, green hydrogen, and semiconductors where demand for advanced water solutions is expected to rise.
“This order marks WABAG’s foray into delivering comprehensive water management solutions for solar cell facilities, one of the high-growth segments for the future,” said V. Sivakumar, General Manager – Sales & Marketing, India Cluster, WABAG. “The project is aligned with our strategy to diversify into water management for new-age industrial applications. WABAG’s technological expertise, track record and competitive pricing enabled us to offer the lowest life-cycle cost.”
The deal with RenewSys, part of the Enpee Group and a key player in solar PV modules and components, underlines the growing linkages between India’s clean energy expansion and specialised water technology providers.
