Wipro, Cropin Join Forces To Boost AI Adoption In Global Agri-food Supply Chains

Partnership aims to solve traceability, data fragmentation, and climate risks in agribusiness and adjacent sectors

Cropin has partnered with global technology major Wipro to accelerate digital transformation across the agri-food value chain. The collaboration, announced on 15 July, brings together Cropin’s deep agri-tech expertise with Wipro’s strength in AI-powered consulting and services to tackle systemic issues facing agribusinesses worldwide.

The move comes as climate volatility, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory pressure—from frameworks like the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)—reshape global agri operations. The two companies will co-develop scalable AI-led solutions aimed at improving traceability, data integration, and operational resilience from farm to fork.

Agribusinesses today continue to struggle with three key barriers: lack of transparency, siloed data systems, and unpredictable operating conditions. Cropin’s AI-powered agri-intelligence platform, when integrated with Wipro’s enterprise-scale consulting capabilities, aims to help organisations derive granular farm-level insights, streamline fragmented operations, and embed sustainability across their supply chains.

“Climate change, geopolitical instability, and trade tensions are reshaping the agribusiness landscape. At the same time, regulatory pressures like the EUDR and rising demand for traceability are forcing companies to rethink how they operate,” said Krishna Kumar, Founder and CEO of Cropin. “This partnership with Wipro is a strategic step toward building data-driven, climate-resilient, and compliant supply chains at scale.”

While the initial focus is on agribusinesses, both companies said their joint solutions will extend to adjacent sectors such as consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, food services, and quick-service restaurants (QSR)—industries where supply chain intelligence and sustainability are growing priorities.

“AI is redefining how agribusinesses operate—from sourcing and production to distribution, compliance, and sustainability,” said Shiva Jayaraman, SVP and Sector Head – Consumer Business, Americas 1, Wipro. “Together with Cropin, we’re helping clients transform their value chains into intelligent ecosystems that deliver measurable outcomes.”

The partnership reflects a growing trend of AI-led collaborations in agriculture and food systems, as stakeholders seek to modernise legacy processes and meet climate and compliance imperatives.
